When is the best time to have a baby shower?

One or two months be for the babe is born usually they know the gender and you can purchase the appropriate gender gift.

We always had them a month or two before the due date. But sweetie, it is tacky to give yourself one. . . perhaps a friend will agree to give it ? ? If you lived closer, I would willingly volunteer !

you need to ask the parents of the child on their belief about this.
Some people have the shower after the child is born and they invite men as well.

I think a shower should be after a baby is born, The family can get the main items like a crib and some clothes before .

A fetus that makes it to the seventh month is usually viable and that would be a good time.

It's before the baby is born so the new parents will be prepared with all the things a baby needs. Seven months is a good time. Usually the if the pregnancy is in the safe stage with very little chance of miscarriage. It's also not so close to delivery date that everyone is on pins and needles during the shower for fear the mother to be goes into labor, It shouldn't very formal with just light refreshments.
