What should I do? Domestic violence dispute?

My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 years... Things have gotten bad in the past 2 when we moved to a new state. We have been drinking heavily, verbally abusive, etc. Last New Year's he got so drunk that he gabve me a bloody nose and I put him in jail. The case got dismissed... he blamed it all on me, and ever since then he has held a grudge. Well, we went out a month ago, and when we came home we got in a huge argument. He got upset at me for ordering a pizza because he thought I was trying to lose weight, and that I should not eat at all, then he tried to to turn it around and say it was because of the price of the pizza, and I don't make that much money, and I should not be spending any money on stuff like that. Well, it hurt my feelings, and he kept going on about it, and I pushed him on the bed, and his necklace came off. I got taken to jail for something so stupid... I got a public defender, and he is going to testify in my behalf... I have no record, the last time he went to jail was in another city, I am a nursing student.... I didn;t even have to pay bond to get out, adn I was only there for about 30 minutes. He thinks that we should tell the judge that we are trying to work it out, but I am really leaving and going back to my home state. I told him that and he told me taht if I did, he would make sure that I was "punished"... I am thinking of telling the public defender that I am planning on leaving without my boyfrined knowing... that way we can all ensure that i will NEVER be seen by anyone in court, or jail again!!! But my boyfrined thinks that if I do say that I am planning on leaving, I will get burned....

Notice how his case got dismissed and you are having such a hard time. There is really something wrong with that picture. Really really wrong. You need to let your public defender know that he is threatening you. YOU CAN NOT BE LIVING WITH HIM WHILE YOU ARE FIGHTING THIS CASE!! Not a good look to the judge. For some reason you are getting shuffled around, but those people are not dumb they know you are getting abused. HE IS A PUNK for even letting you go through this. If you have to sneak away from him, do it carefully and make it permanent.
