Now that I am a mother I think I would have to say no, even though I dont have a daughter I have a son but still I have a mother attitude towards things. When I was 15 I got my belly button pierced, my mom did not tell me yes or no, she just told me that do what she thought she would want me to do, of course I went and got it done, even though I did not realize my mom was trying to let me be an adult and to make an adult decision. I would make her wait til she was 18 when she is on her own.

I would say no. 15 is too young and she doesn't need to have a bellybutton piercing because she doesn't need to be showing her stomach off. I wouldn't get upset for her asking, I would talk to her about it and tell her my concerns. I would want her to realize that she doesn't need it. She doesn't need to be another teen walking around with her stomach sticking out.

In the end, no matter what though, it would be a no. I hope the way she would be raised would prevent this situation in the first place.

Add: When she's 18, even if she's still living at home while going to college, then I would be okay with her getting one. I still wouldn't want her to walk around showing her stomach off, but a bellybutton piercing wouldn't bother me as long as she was mature and made good decisions.

I've never understood why some parents will actually pierce their baby's ears, at an age when she doesn't even want them yet and can't give consent, but yet will balk when she's a teenager and wants to get a belly ring. I think it's far tackier and low-class for a baby to have earrings than for a teen to wear a belly ring at the beach. The risk of infection in a navel piercing isn't any greater than it is in an ear piercing.

I got mine done on a vacation to Costa Rica when I was 15. I loved it for a while, then grew tired of it and took it out by 17. My parents got used to it and kept things in perspective. It was only ever seen when I was at the beach, and I never, ever wore short shirts that showed it when I was out in public.
